Ticker is $GAME
Today, we are excited to unveil the official ticker symbol for the token driving the entire Delabs Games ecosystem: $GAME.
Yes. The ticker is $GAME.
But why $GAME? Not $DELABS?
Through this blog post, we’ll share more details behind the ticker.
Challenges identified
On March 22nd, we proudly unveiled Whitepaper v1 of Delabs Games, a significant milestone in our journey.

The core essence of the platform is "The Playable Layer". This is our unique solution to the many problems we’ve seen while building the Web3 gaming ecosystem since 2021.
Challenge 1: How can we share the value to gamers?
The value of a game and its platform comes from the gamers. However, in traditional platform models, the platform monopolizes the value to strengthen its bargaining power, leaving users unrewarded for their contributions.
Challenge 2 : How can we avoid being a platform only with a list of games to one which has platform value and player liquidity?
The lack of incentives to participate in the platform has led to a fragmented structure. Instead of being a unified platform, most platforms nowadays resemble a list of games where a few titles attract most of the users, leaving no room for other games to draw the attention of existing platform users.
Challenge 3 : How can we decrease token dependency for each game?
The open structure of Web3 is a double-edged sword. While it's beneficial for solving the cold start problem and gathering stakeholders, failing to convert them into players who find intrinsic value (i.e., fun games) can lead to unsustainability.
This risk is particularly high if the token is tied to a single game, given that the success rate of games in the traditional gaming industry is less than 5%.
Using a platform token model could be a solution. This approach aggregates various games into one platform token, reducing the risk of a single point of failure. However, there's still one more problem that needs addressing.
Challenge 4 : How can we solve the misalignment between stakeholders and gamers??
Ownership, a core pillar of Web3, has produced a paradigm shift in the gaming industry. This shift allows gamers to own the platform through governance and gain a stake from the value created.
Ideally, the real owners of a gaming platform should be the gamers who actively participate and contribute to its growth.
However, in the current state of Web3, external motivations drive stakeholder participation. This results in their interests being invested in the platform's potential value.
If stakeholders cannot become gamers, then the platform will exist for investors rather than gamers.
It is critical for the sustainability of the gaming platform to convert stakeholders into gamers and vice versa.
The Playable Layer
The Playable Layer was designed to address the challenges above
.
Platform token model
By implementing a platform token model, games within the Delabs Games ecosystem will function independently, reducing reliance on the token.
The Playable Layer requires a "Playable Game" that can attract both actual players and potential stakeholders.
As a prominent mobile gaming studio in Korea, 4:33 Creative Lab, the parent company of Delabs Games, boasts a portfolio of over 47 games, including 5 blockbuster hit titles. Among these, Boxing Star stands out with over 70M+ downloads and a maximum monthly active user (MAU) count of 300K+. The game has garnered acclaim, boasting a rating of 4.8 out of 5.0 on the Google Play Store, based on over 840K+ reviews.
Besides Boxing Star, 4:33 Creative Lab has been producing games of different genres and achieving meaningful results since its establishment in 2009. Some of the titles by 4:33 Creative Lab and its subsidiaries include: Bow for Kakao, Dekaron, World Baseball Stars and Eroica.
Building platform-level player liquidity through a dynamic reward mechanism
Community reward from $GAME tokenomics will be used to attract various users to the game. The distribution of rewards among the games will be determined.
This reward emission will be dynamic, providing more rewards to the game with better performance (e.g., revenue, active user count). The equation and weight for this can be adjusted by DAO governance, incentivizing game players to participate and make conditions more favorable for their preferred game.
Furthermore, this dynamic emission allows platform users to speculate rewards among the games, turning the speculation element into a game.
For instance, some users may play a game with a higher reward allocation, while some strategic users may play a game with less reward allocated to claim a larger share.
Encouraging platform users to engage in various games will help convert certain users into dedicated game players.
Asset Inventory System to align platform stakeholders and gamers
Gamers and platform stakeholders can acquire assets by engaging in gameplay, contributing to the platform, or owning digital assets within the ecosystem.
These assets can be placed into the inventory, which can provide certain in-game or platform boosts (e.g., staking yield).
A boost effect can be designed to require platform activities for in-game boosts and vice versa. This encourages organic conversion between stakeholders and gamers.
Gamers are encouraged to engage in platform activities through AIS and $GAME rewards from community reward allocations. The Playable Layer is designed for long-term governance by gamers, aligning the interests of both platform stakeholders and gamers.
$GAME : Symbolizing our great journey
Through The Playable Layer, Delabs Games aims to:
Create FUN games
Develop a platform that is a game in itself
Bringing innovation to the Web3 gaming platform model
Build an ecosystem that organically intertwines the gamers, the games, and the platform
The Playable Layer was designed to overcome some problems we’ve seen in both traditional gaming and web3 gaming scenes and kick off the first step towards mass adoption of web3. We concluded that $GAME is the best ticker to represent our grand vision.
Welcome to Delabs Games.
The ticker is $GAME.
